Operations Sourcing Manager

Primary purpose and responsibilities and function of this position:

The Operations Sourcing Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of contract manufacturing vendors within the drug and medical device environment. This includes vendor selection, performance oversight, contract and pricing negotiations, and ensuring consistent product supply aligned with regulatory and business requirements. The role bridges internal cross-functional teams with external suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact for vendor relationship management and performance optimization.

Major duties and responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential contract manufacturers to support current and future business needs.
• Lead negotiations on commercial agreements including pricing, RFQ/RFP processes, payment terms, supply terms, and service levels.
• Oversee onboarding and qualification activities, ensuring alignment with quality, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison with contract manufacturers to ensure optimal cost, quality, service levels, and supply continuity
• Identify and evaluate cost reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, value engineering, or alternate sourcing.
• Support development and execution of sourcing strategies, including supplier segmentation, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement and maintain vendor management standards, KPIs, and governance processes.
• Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the strategic development of the external manufacturing network and internal stakeholder alignment.
• Coordinate demand planning, forecasts, and purchase orders with supply chain and planning teams.
• Manage day-to-day supply execution issues, including deliveries, lead times, inventory alignment, and escalations.
• Leads and supports qualification projects, process transfers, and supplier change management.
• Act as a key escalation point for vendor-related issues, coordinating resolution and ensuring timely follow-up.

Education and Knowledge Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing\vendor management
• Strong experience in managing contract manufacturers and negotiating pricing and supply agreements.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing supplier performance in a global or matrixed environment.
