Genome-wide CRISPRi screens to identify drug resistance mechanisms in fungi

Role Description:

We are looking for enthusiastic M.Sc or Ph.D. students to join the lab of Dr. Ofri Levi, part of the MIGAL Galilee Research Institute in Kiryat Shmona. As a student in our lab, you will engage in cutting-edge research projects, contributing to our understanding of fungal resistance mechanisms and the development of novel antifungal strategies.

Research Areas:

Dr. Levi's lab specializes in:

· Conducting genome-wide CRISPRi screens to identify drug resistance mechanisms in fungi

· Identifying molecular mechanisms leading to fungal resistance to antifungal drugs

· Discovering natural compounds with antifungal properties

· Developing CRISPR technologies for fungi

Qualifications:

· Strong interest in molecular biology and biotechnology

· Previous laboratory experience is an advantage

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
