EHS Leader

Job Description Summary

Responsible for enabling business strategy and performance by applying technology solutions to EHS processes and priorities, managing data structures and/or systems for the purpose of automation and decision making. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain EHS programs, procedures, practices, licenses, permits, site-specific EHS documentation, records and plans to assure compliance with Israel regulations and GE Global requirements (OSHA, Code du travail Français, EU Directives, GEHC Internal policies and standards, etc.)
• Engage and influence leadership commitment to EHS and coach individuals to successfully execute specified EHS priorities
• Manage key EHS performance indicators (KPI) for the site and drive necessary efforts for success
• Lead incident investigations and drive closure of effective corrective/preventive actions
• Analyze trends and performance, provide routine feedback, and drive actions to improve performance
• Interface with environmental, health and safety regulatory agencies, as needed
• Execute required actions to implement and operationalize a sustainable EHS management system
• Drive EHS compliance through audits, process / equipment reviews and site inspections
• Partner with global EHS team to manage site EHS compliance activities (inspections, training, monitoring, sampling, etc.)
• Able to influence cross functional teams to operationalize and standardize EHS work practices
• Collaborate with Operations and other teams to implement programs to include change management and drive a proactive and positive safety culture
  
  

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, or closely related degree
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in successful EHS program implementation
• High say/do ratio
• Demonstrated ability to lead in a cross-functional team environment
• Strong knowledge of Israel EHS related regulatory requirements
• Excellent leadership, program and project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate using Hebrew and English

• Self-starter with high energy
• Advanced computer skills and reporting tools (knowledge in Gensuite is a plus)
• Internal Auditor experience or certificate
