The role:

We are hiring a versatile and fast-learning organic chemist to join our R&D team. This is a hands-on lab position focused on designing and synthesizing small molecules and monomers from renewable feedstocks.

You will help develop new routes to scalable, sustainable chemicals and collaborate closely with other chemists and engineers, sub-contractors and external partners.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving startup, loves solving open-ended scientific problems and, eager to learn new skills and methods and to have the chance to shape the direction of sustainable materials innovation from the ground up. 

Key responsibilities:

-         Design and carry out efficient, green synthesis of small molecules and functional monomers.

-         Optimize reaction conditions for scalability, selectivity and environmental impact.

-         Analyze compounds using HPLC, NMR and other standard analytical techniques.

-         Collaborate with other chemists, sub-contractors and design partners to align with performance needs.

-         Maintain accurate records and contribute to IP development.

-         Help in shaping a safe, creative and productive lab environment.

Require qualifications:

-         M.Sc. in organic chemistry, green chemistry or related field. Ph.D. is a plus.

-         Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry and reactions optimization.

-         Proficiency with standard analytical tools (HPLC, NMR, chromatography, etc.).

-         Familiarity with catalytic processes (homogeneous and heterogeneous), polymer science and structure-property relationships in materials is a strong plus.

-         Prior startup or multidisciplinary R&D team experience is a strong advantage.

-         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

-         Passion for sustainability and working on climate-aligned technologies.
