CAF Israel is looking for a technician to join the Jerusalem Light Rail project

Location: Jerusalem

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated technician to join the maintenance team for the new CAF URBOS trams operating in Jerusalem.

The role focuses on identifying and fixing faults in the trams during the warranty period, working in a professional depot environment and using advanced tools, diagnostic software, and technical schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems across the CAF tram fleet
• Performing corrective maintenance using diagnostic software, technical drawings, and various test equipment
• Replacing and repairing components as needed to ensure reliable tram operation
  
  

• Traction and brake systems
• Gearboxes and pantographs
• HVAC (air conditioning) systems
• Passenger doors and communication systems (PIS, PAS, PA, CCTV)
• High-voltage electrical equipment and cab control systems
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Wiring, relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and electrical cabinets
  
  

• Diagnostic software on laptops
• Electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Testing and measuring equipment
• MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  
  

• Collaborating closely with your local team, the team leader, CAF engineers, the LAVI O&M team, and other international CAF departments (such as Retrofit and Testing & Commissioning)
  
  

• Certified technician diploma (minimum required level in Israel)
  
  

• Background in rolling stock maintenance, commissioning, or warranty support
• Hands-on experience with fault detection and root cause analysis
• Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams
• Experience working with diagnostic software and test equipment
  
  

• Valid driver’s license
• Willingness to work in shifts (day/night, including weekends)
• Hebrew and English (Spanish – an advantage)
