Data Engineer

A startup company developing an innovative Data infrastructure for the Online Social Gaming industry. The company integrates with game APIs (no relation to gambling) to create a novel and engaging gaming experience.

Located in Tel Aviv near a train line, with 80 employees – most of them in R&D.

Founded in 2022, the company raised a significant amount from leading industry investors and VCs. The founders are experienced technologists with past exits, deep expertise in the global gaming space, and backgrounds in elite military technology units.

Role Description:

• Work in a Big Data and Real-Time Data Processing environment, coding in Java and Python.
• Utilize Apache Spark within a GCP and AWS setup.
• Develop and maintain BI assets (such as datasets and catalogs) and build and maintain ETL pipelines using Segment and Airflow.
• A technically challenging environment with direct impact on the company’s core product.

Requirements:

• 3 years of professional experience as a Big Data Engineer.
• Spark expertise (advantage): Strong proficiency in Apache Spark, including hands-on experience with building data processing applications and pipelines using Spark's core libraries.
• Data Engineering: Proven track record in designing and implementing ETL pipelines, data integration, and data transformation processes.
• Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP.
• SQL and Data Modeling: Solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data modelling.
• Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with big data technologies ,data formats (Parquet, Avro), and distributed computing concepts.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages like Python,
• ETL Tools and Orchestration: Familiarity with ETL tools and frameworks, such as Apache Airflow.
