Applied Biological Research - Freelance Grant Writer

We are seeking an experienced freelance grant writer with a proven track record in writing, submitting, and managing funding proposals for applied biological research — with a strong focus on competitive, innovation-driven programs offered by the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA).

The ideal candidate understands both the scientific and regulatory landscapes and can translate complex biological research into clear, concise, and compelling proposals tailored to governmental funding bodies.

A history of successfully funded applications is a must.

Key Qualifications:

·      Ph.D. in Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field

·      At least 5 years of experience writing and submitting grant proposals to the Israel Innovation Authority, with a proven success rate

·      In-depth knowledge of the IIA's structure, language, submission process, and evaluation criteria

·      Ability to align scientific/technological content with the business and innovation value expected by the IIA

·      Strong writing and project coordination skills, with attention to formal requirements and deadlines

Responsibilities:

·      Lead the writing, editing, and management of grant applications for biological R&D projects

·      Work closely with scientific and operational teams to gather relevant content and insights

·      Ensure compliance with all formal submission requirements (structure, documents, timelines)

·      Provide guidance on the strategic positioning of proposals to enhance chances of success

·      Support ongoing communication, including responses to clarifications and post-submission updates
