Our backend team deals with real time event processing, dealing with local first databases sync, building a third party application marketplace and bringing AI super-powers to teams which were stuck in Whatsapp 

Role Description

As a Backend tech lead, you'll help architect the system to take it to the next level as well as implement complex features, taking end-to-end ownership from working from the whiteboard to shipping to production. We are obsessed with taking complex features and making them accessible, fast and fun.

Our Backend team is small and mighty so you'll have an outsized impact on the company and product.

We deal with real time processing where milliseconds matters and you deal with millions of events.

Our state-of-art sync engine helps syncing our cloud database to every user device in a secure and reliable fashion.

You’ll be shaping our API as we open our platform to external developers in order to integrate into the platform.

We are building AI and agents that bring superpowers to the group chat you have been always clamouring about.

We utilize the latest technologies from golang, redis, pubsub and mongo and build services on top of multi-cloud (GCP and AWS), have CI/CD and automated tests and take pride in making the system something we love to use daily.

Our offices are located in Sharona, and we are in the office Monday and Wednesday

What you’ll do

• Craft polished, high-performance architecture - from custom messaging pipelines to APIs that power users who use the system for their most critical tasks
• Push the limits of local-first architecture: optimize the sync engine to ship data into a device fast but smart and deal with CDC and CDRT
• Own projects end-to-end: scope, design, code, test, release, and monitor
• Work with client product teams to bring features to life, and with external developers to provide platform integrations they love to use
• Raise the bar on code quality, automation, and engineering best practices
• Mentor teammates and help us hire the next wave of backend talent

What You Bring

• 7+ years of backend experience,  building large distributed systems. 
• Track record shipping large-scale, enterprise-grade services 
• Have security experience and exposing APIs that teams love to use
• Clear, empathetic communication - bonus points if you love giving (and getting) feedback.

Bonus Points

• Have experience with golang, mongo
• Have experience with deploying to GCP and AWS
• Experience with queuing systems, WebSockets, or WebRTC.
• Experience with backends for mobile apps, multimedia or AI
