Our client is a well-established and fast-growing global R&D company, developing groundbreaking technologies based on terahertz waves. The company is driven by a mission: to bring ethical, high-impact innovation to industries that have seen little change in decades. With a strong focus on sustainability and global scale, their work blends advanced hardware engineering with scientific research to build solutions that are both commercially viable and environmentally responsible.
We are looking for a Sr. Embedded Engineer to be a part of SW and system-level development within the R&D division of the company for next-generation terahertz spectroscopy devices. In this role, you will be a part of the core R&D team, working on critical improvements for the existing and developing new products of the company, while working closely with SW and HW, signal processing, and AI teams. Your scope will range from laser control and high-speed data acquisition to FPGA-based preprocessing pipelines. You’ll help set best practices, collaborate within team and company, and play a key role in translating scientific breakthroughs into robust, market-ready products
Responsibilities
- Lead firmware development for laser and control systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish development standards.
- Design high-speed data acquisition and real-time processing.
- Collaborate with FPGA teams on AI acceleration integration.
- Implement hardware communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
- Integrate and test software with custom SoCs and hardware.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure system stability and responsiveness.
- Manage codebase maintainability and performance through product lifecycle.
Requirements
- 7+ years in embedded development
- Proficient with Python
- Proficient in C/C++ for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
- Experienced with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG).
- Skilled in analog signal acquisition, ADC/DAC, and real-time optimization.
- Hands-on with laser control, TECs, and analog hardware integration.
Advantages:
- 2+ years of experience in technical leadership
- B.Sc. or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with FPGA tools (Xilinx, Intel, Lattice) using VHDL/Verilog or HLS.
- Exposure to high-speed serial interfaces (PCIe, LVDS, JESD204B).
- Familiarity with AI/ML deployment at the edge or signal preprocessing for embedded devices.
The company offers an exciting opportunity to work in cutting-edge research and development, not only traditional software engineering. You'll focus on early-stage exploration, prototyping, and validation of transformative technologies with global impact. This role is highly collaborative, working with scientists and engineers in a fast-paced R&D environment where innovation, curiosity, and experimentation are key. You'll have real influence on future products and benefit from strong growth opportunities and a competitive compensation package.
