- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support production requirements and meet project timelines.
- Source and procure materials, components, and equipment from approved suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost savings and achieve favorable terms and conditions.
- Evaluate supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure reliability and consistency in the supply chain.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to identify procurement needs and address any issues or concerns.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
- Prepare and analyze purchasing reports, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track procurement performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including ITAR and DFARS requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a purchasing manager, preferably in the defense industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and best practices, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems - Priority – an advantage.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
