Your Role

As an R&D Team Leader, you will spearhead a dedicated R&D team responsible for our Data Automation offering, collaborating closely with our Product Manager and customer facing teams. Your mission is to drive the development and delivery of our extensive plugins offering, ensuring our customers can seamlessly navigate their tech landscape and meet their GRC objectives. You will lead the scale phase of our data collection engine development cycle, reinventing it with AI capabilities, collaborating closely with Data Scientists within the Data Engineering Group, and work closely with our customers to keep our product robust and highly responsive.

anecdotes is a B-round startup founded in June 2020 that is leading the Compliance Automation space for hyper growth companies. We believe that credible, visible, and actionable data should be the foundation of every GRC (governance, risk, and compliance) team’s decision-making process. That is why we help enterprises collect and standardize data from hundreds of SaaS tools, cloud infrastructures, private networks, databases, and more, to gain continuous visibility into their Security Compliance posture.

What You'll Do:

• Lead with vision: Mentor and manage a team of sharp, motivated engineers, helping them grow while pushing boundaries together.
• Innovate: Identify and experiment with AI tools & techniques to bring an innovative mindset to our product technical design.
• Own the delivery: Manage the development of hundreds of plugins and data artifacts across various tools, from Cybersecurity to Cloud infrastructure and Dev tools.
• Partner cross-functionally: Align with Product, Customers, and GTM teams to bring seamless solutions to life.
• Build for scale: Elevate performance and reliability while future-proofing the system with cutting-edge technologies.
• Raise the bar: Enforce best practices in architecture, testing, documentation, and team processes.
• Optimize constantly: Monitor team health, velocity, and outcomes to ensure consistent improvement.
  
  

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, with 1+ years in a leadership position.
• Proven success leading teams in agile, fast-paced environments (preferably startups).
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and high-level languages (especially Python).
• Experience building distributed systems and microservice-based architecture.
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• A passion for building team culture and mentoring others.
• A builder’s mindset with a sharp eye for efficiency, scalability, and simplicity.
