Role Overview:
As the AI/ML Lead, you’ll define and execute the machine learning roadmap at Mentaily. You'll lead the
development of our safety models, user scoring systems, and personalization strategies across advanced
LLM and NLP systems. This is a unique opportunity to shape the core intelligence behind a fast-growing
mental health startup while working closely with a cross-functional team of product leaders, engineers,
and mental health professionals.
Key Responsibilities:

Architect, build, and iterate on NLP/LLM models (e.g., safety classification, session risk scoring,
personalization)
●
Ensure ethical, safe, and effective AI behavior in collaboration with product and clinical advisors
●
Design and implement MLOps workflows for training, versioning, and real-time monitoring
●
Work closely with engineering to integrate models into real-time systems
Qualifications:
●
4+ years experience in applied ML/NLP (BERT, GPT, Transformer architectures)
●
Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, vector search
●
Experience with RAG frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack) and agent
orchestration tools (e.g., AutoGen, LangGraph)
●
Experience with Vertex AI, Azure ML, or similar production-grade platforms
●
Strong Python and ML stack (PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.)
●
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Bonus Qualifications:
●
Experience with clinical NLP or behavioral signal detection
●
Prior work in the safety/reliability of LLM systems
