Genetic Bank Lead

A unique and innovative genetic bank operating at the forefront of biological research and development in agriculture is seeking a Genetic Bank Lead. The role includes managing the genetic material of the company, being responsible for and working with a professional team, conducting hands-on lab work, and ensuring timely laboratory outputs. The position requires a systematic approach, managerial experience, fieldwork capabilities, and a strong background in microbiology.

Responsibilities:

·      Day-to-day management of the genetic bank: intake, documentation, maintenance, quality and safety assurance

·      Support of production processes – supplying genetic material for production, including quality control (QC)

·      Collaborating with various departments across the company

·      Developing and implementing procedures in line with international standards

·      Performing lab work as needed, including research, preservation, and documentation of findings

·      Managing relationships with external entities – suppliers, international genetic banks

·      Hands-on bench work

Qualifications:

·      PhD in Life Sciences / Microbiology / Biotechnology or a related field, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience

·      Proven experience managing professional teams and/or research laboratories – mandatory

·      Experience in regulatory and licensing processes – advantageous

·      Proficiency in advanced lab techniques and experience working with biological samples (bacteria and fungi)

·      Highly organized and detail-oriented

·      Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage tasks end-to-end

·      High motivation and self-drive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

·      Willingness to work non-standard hours as needed

·      Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

·      Willingness to perform fieldwork

·      High-level English – reading, writing, and speaking

·      Ability to read and analyse academic articles in science and technology

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer work – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, and strong general tech aptitude.
