About the Lab

We are a multidisciplinary research team investigating the functions of RNA modifications and their applications in therapeutics. By combining cutting-edge experimental approaches with advanced computational methods, we aim to uncover how chemical marks on RNA regulate gene expression and how they can be harnessed to develop next-generation RNA-based therapies.

Position Summary

We seek a highly motivated Staff Scientist (PhD level) to lead and direct the computational arm of our lab. You will develop novel algorithms, design end-to-end data-analysis pipelines, and spearhead independent research projects. In parallel, you will mentor and guide experimental scientists—translating complex biological questions into computational strategies and ensuring robust, reproducible analyses.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead Strategy: Define and drive the computational vision, aligning projects with overall lab goals.

· Pipeline Development: Build and maintain scalable analysis workflows for sequencing, structural, and multi-omic data.

· Algorithm & Model Innovation: Create and apply statistical and machine-learning methods to detect and interpret RNA modifications.

· Independent Research: Conceive, execute, and publish your own computational studies; present at conferences.

· Mentorship: Train and guide post-docs, students, and technicians in best practices for reproducible computational research.

· Data Stewardship & Sharing: Ensure data integrity and reproducibility; develop and disseminate open-source tools and code.

Required Qualifications

· PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field

· Strong track record of method development and first-authorship publications

· Expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C++) and experience with HPC/cloud computing

· Hands-on experience with RNA-seq, nanopore sequencing, or similar high-throughput data

· Demonstrated ability to translate biological problems into computational workflows

· Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring
