DevOps Engineer

Refine Intelligence is a fast-growing startup building cloud-native tools that help banks stay compliant and protect customers from financial crime. Already live with several U.S. banks, we’re scaling quickly and expanding our engineering team.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to take day-to-day ownership of our infrastructure while our outgoing Head of DevOps moves into a mentoring role. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a capable mid-level engineer who wants to build on a solid, production-hardened foundation.

• Design, maintain and improve our Azure-hosted Kubernetes environment with Terraform, Helm and Kustomize.
• Operate and refine our GitOps pipeline (GitHub Actions + Argo CD) across multiple environments.
• Implement and manage authentication and access control using SAML and OAuth2 for both internal tooling and customer-facing services.
• Embed observability best practices—centralised logging, Datadog dashboards, actionable alerts and well-documented incident response.
• Optimise cost, performance and security as traffic and customer demands grow.
• Guide developers in DevOps principles and help shape the infrastructure roadmap, including our planned adoption of Dagster for workflow orchestration.

• Production experience with a major cloud platform (Azure preferred).
• Strong Kubernetes skills and confidence working with YAML-based configuration tooling.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform and GitHub Actions (or comparable CI/CD tools).
• Practical GitOps experience with Argo CD or a similar engine.
• Solid observability know-how- logs, APM, dashboards and incident management.(e.g. Datadog).
• Working knowledge of SAML and OAuth2 authentication flows.
• Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative mindset.

• Experience in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare (SOC2 Compliance).
• Familiarity with Dagster, Airflow or other workflow-orchestration frameworks.
• Scripting in Python or TypeScript for automation and tooling.
