Workforce Planning Specialist

We are seeking a Workforce Planning Specialist to optimize workforce productivity and efficiency within dynamic operations environment. This role is pivotal in analyzing labour trends, designing scheduling solutions, and implementing strategies to align workforce capacity with operational demands. You’ll act as the bridge between HR and operations, ensuring labour resources are deployed effectively while maintaining compliance and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Workforce Planning: Develop and maintain labour forecasts, schedules, and staffing models to meet operational targets.
• Productivity Analysis: Monitor KPIs (e.g., labour hours, output efficiency) and recommend improvements.
• Scheduling Systems: Design and manage shift patterns, rotations, and overtime allocations to balance cost and productivity.
• Compliance Oversight: Ensure labour practices adhere to local regulations and company policies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HR and operations teams to address labour gaps, turnover, and training needs.
• Technology Utilization: Leverage workforce management tools (e.g., Kronos, SAP) to automate and refine labour tracking.
• Reporting: Generate insights on labour trends, costs, and risks for leadership decision-making.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to reduce labour waste and boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in labour planning, workforce analytics, or operations (warehouse/logistics experience preferred).
• Proficiency with workforce management software 
• Familiarity with lean principles or operational efficiency methodologies.
• Advanced Excel/data analysis skills (pivot tables, macros).
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of labour laws and union agreements (if applicable).
• Mindset: Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
