Head of HVAC Department

Location: Herzliya HQ with occasional travel to Israel and international client sites

Reports to: President, Biopharmax Group

Biopharmax Group needs a highly skilled and driven Head of HVAC Department who will guide our group of HVAC engineers in designing and completing complex and large-scale projects for the microelectronic and pharma industries. The position encompasses full responsibility for designing, executing, overseeing, commissioning, and validating state-of-the-art air conditioning systems for production facilities and cleanrooms working under demanding global standards.

• Oversee and guide a professional team of HVAC designers and engineers through training, mentoring, and technical direction.
• Responsible for the planning, installation, and commissioning of HVAC systems for the pharma, microelectronics, and biotechnology sectors.
• Ensure all systems are compliant with strict quality standards such as GMP, ISO 14644, FDA, EMA, and ASHRAE.
• Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Process, Electrical, Control Systems, Clean Rooms, and Architecture.
• Efficiently manage subcontractors, budgets, and schedules.
• Foster innovation in energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational optimization.
• Provide technical advice and support to business development and sales teams, including tender participation and the development of technical specifications.

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline – essential; M.Sc. – beneficial.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC system design and project leadership of cleanroom facilities for the pharma and/or microelectronics industries.
• At least 2–3 years of experience managing engineering and design teams.
• In-depth understanding of global industry standards (GMP, FDA, ISO 14644).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and thermal load calculation software – a plus.
• Experience with commissioning and validation of HVAC systems – advantageous.
• Strong matrix management skills and effective cross-functional team communication.
• High-level English proficiency – written, oral, and for professional presentations.
