We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to develop Generative AI initiatives that enhance and scale operational processes. In this role, you’ll design and implement intelligent systems that introduce new AI-based decision-making flows, bringing significant business impact. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI and take them from idea to production. This key position will shape how Papaya grows and operates in the years ahead.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement robust, efficient, and maintainable AI solutions, ensuring best practices in code quality and system architecture.
Research, experiment with, and integrate new AI technologies, tools, and frameworks.
Take ownership of end-to-end project development, from requirements gathering to production deployment.
Propose AI copilots and validate ROI through lean POCs.
Work with a tech stack including AWS, Kubernetes, Node.js TypeScript, Redis, and MySQL.

Requirements:

At least 7 years of experience as a backend developer, working on scalable, high-performance systems.
Hands-on experience with experimenting and introducing AI products.
Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (or other relevant backend languages like Python or Java).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
