Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Data Governance Operations Analyst to join our IT Data Governance team. This role is centered on making things work, keeping systems and inventories accurate, and supporting governance execution across the organization.

You will be responsible for the daily operation of key data governance tools and processes ensuring metadata is properly cataloged, access controls are executed in line with policy, and governance artifacts are kept up to date. You'll support both business and technical stakeholders by maintaining system integrity, resolving issues, and enabling seamless governance execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage metadata tools (e.g., Alation), including dataset onboarding, metadata documentation, and usage monitoring
• Create and maintain a comprehensive data governance inventory, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and other key artifacts
• Manage access requests and workflows, ensuring timely and compliant access provisioning
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that track governance adoption, y, and tool usage
• Conduct research to support the development and refinement of policies, procedures, and tool configurations
• Collaborate with data stewards, business users, and technical teams to support metadata curation and governance adoption
• Assist in drafting and maintaining governance documentation, including standards, guidelines, and procedures
  
  

• 1–3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related data operations role
• Familiarity with metadata management platforms (e.g., Alation, Collibra), including cataloging, documentation, and stewardship processes
• Understanding of core data governance principles: metadata, data ownership, access control, and policy compliance
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in maintaining documentation and data inventories
• Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal—comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience supporting cross-functional data governance or compliance initiatives – advantage
