Position Overview

We’re hiring a hands-on Director of Finance, a foundational hire who will build Bria’s internal finance engine from the ground up. You’ll bring structure to a fast-moving environment, not just by keeping the books clean, but by designing systems that help the company move faster, smarter, and at scale.

This is our first internal finance hire. You’ll work directly with the CFO to take Bria from “outsourced and scrappy” to “automated, audit-ready, and built for scale. You’ll lead the financial core - owning controls, close, systems, reporting, and financial operations, while helping build the processes and culture of a world-class, AI-first finance team. If you’ve ever looked at a messy spreadsheet or broken process and said, “There’s got to be a better way…” and then actually built it, you’ll thrive here.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Control

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• Maintain clean, GAAP-compliant books across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Handle reconciliations (bank, payroll, Stripe, vendors, accruals, deferred revenue)
• Clean up and maintain a usable Chart of Accounts and GL structure
• Set us up to be audit-ready, with documentation that makes sense and holds up

Finance Operations

• Take charge of cash flow, payroll coordination, billing, collections, vendor payments
• Build a solid usage-to-billing-to-cash process with controls baked in
• Partner with Sales and Legal on contract terms, ARR treatment, and rev rec
• Create internal finance policies - approval flows, spend controls, payment hygiene

Reporting & Systems

• Build monthly internal reporting and board-ready materials
• Set up our budget vs. actual workflows and forecasting templates
• Drive ERP, billing, BI, and CRM integrations (HubSpot, Stripe, etc.)
• Push for automation: manual = WIP.

Strategic Partnership

• Be a partner to the CFO in financial operations, help prioritize, pressure-test, and fix
• Support GTM, R&D, HR, and Legal with real-time financial clarity
• Connect ops to numbers and drive proactive financial visibility
• Help us get ready for whatever’s next: audits, fundraising, and scale

Requirements:

• 5–8 years experience in high-performance finance environments (Big 4 + VC-backed startup or top tech company)
• You’ve run full close cycles and know what “Great” looks like
• Deep familiarity with modern finance stacks (NetSuite, Stripe, etc.).
• You understand SaaS revenue recognition, contract-to-cash logic, and deferred revenue
• You’ve built finance functions with (or from) outsourced providers
• Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets and data logic
• You like solving problems at the system level, not just patching things together
• You’re curious about how AI and automation can improve finance - because we’re betting big on that
