Software Engineering Team Lead

A startup company developing a ChatGPT-based platform is building AI-driven technology for automated code validation. The company's flagship product, TestGPT, is a model built on top of tools developed by OpenAI. This infrastructure supports a secondary system that analyzes code, understands its context, and generates a series of queries sent to a dedicated model. Thousands of users are currently on the waitlist, and the product is already in use by large, satisfied customers.

The company has raised $50 million across Seed and Series A rounds and employs 50 people, including 40 developers. It is headquartered in Tel Aviv (near a train line) and operates on a hybrid model with two work-from-home days per week.

The company was founded by two experienced entrepreneurs who previously sold their startups and raised $11 million in Seed funding from leading industry investors.

The role involves managing a squad of 8 engineers, including Backend, Full Stack, Frontend, and ML engineers. Reporting directly to the CTO, the position includes 20–30% hands-on development in Python, TypeScript, and Java, currently distributed evenly. The focus is on developing a complex AI-based system for testing and optimizing code using language models.

The technological environment includes: GCP, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions.

Requirements-

• Proven experience managing a team of at least 6 engineers – mandatory
• 5 years of hands-on software development experience – mandatory
• Professional experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Kotlin – mandatory
• Experience working with cloud platforms – mandatory
• Previous experience in SaaS companies or startups – mandatory
• Background in companies developing products for developers
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and processes – advantage
• Experience with UI development – advantage
