Customs Clearance Operations & Compliance Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit import/export declarations via the Israeli Customs system (Sha'ar Olami).
• Ensure all documentation complies with current customs regulations and Free Trade Agreements (e.g., CIFTA, EU-Israel, etc.).
• Coordinate release and delivery of goods from ports, terminals, and bonded warehouses.
• Communicate with Importers & Exporters, customs authorities, port officials, and shipping agents to resolve clearance issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and classification codes (HS codes).
• Track and manage clearance timelines to avoid demurrage or detention charges.
• Verify invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other shipping documents for compliance.
• Handle post-clearance procedures, including filing for refunds, corrections, and responses to customs queries.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, billing, customer service) to ensure timely and accurate service to clients.
• Filing various compliance import license requests.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in customs clearance or international freight forwarding.
• Proficiency in using the Sha'ar Olami customs system.
• Knowledge of Israeli customs regulations and import/export procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple files simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication in Hebrew; English proficiency is an advantage.
• Fully certified Customs Agent or Pakid Rashui.

• Experience in imported vehicles clearance.
• Experience with specialized cargo (e.g., hazardous materials, perishables, vehicles).
