Senior Director of Software – Robotic Systems | Shfela Region

We are a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary company developing an innovative technology platform. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Software and Architecture to lead the software architecture and execution across our complex, multi-module system. This role will report directly to the multi-disciplinary VP of R&D and involve leading a talented team at the intersection of chemistry, physics, robotics, sensors, and advanced algorithmics.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Software Architecture: Define, design, and lead the software architecture for a sophisticated, multi-module system, ensuring robustness, scalability, and seamless integration.

System Integration: Anticipate and address potential integration challenges across hardware/software interfaces and across controlled system modules.

Team Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and guide a team of approximately 17 engineers, including 3 team leads. Foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive design documents for managing software in a multi-tiered system.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, algorithm, and product teams to ensure the system’s technical and functional excellence, driving alignment across disciplines.

Tech Stack:

Backend: Proficiency in C++, Python, and C (for controllers), with a focus on robotic systems development / multidisciplinary systems.

Frontend/UI: Angular, primarily used for visualization and control interfaces.

Data Management: Experience working with MongoDB to monitor and analyze sensor logs.

Computational Geometry: Woked with computational geometry applications / CAD in system design and analysis. Algorithm managemet - a must

Location: Shfela Region, Israel (On-site position)

Requirements

-Bsc from a leading university, Msc is a plus.

- Proven experience as a Software Architect or Director of Software in a multidisciplinary tech environment.

- Deep understanding of systems involving robotics, sensors, physical processes, and complex algorithms.

- Strong system-level thinking and the ability to oversee architecture across hardware and software domains.

- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
