About the role:

We are looking for a strategic and hands-on R&D Team Lead to join our technologies group at Pango. In this key role, you will lead a team of talented engineers, combining deep architectural expertise with strong leadership skills, playing a key-role in building scalable, high-performance solutions that support millions of active users.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team of 5 developers.
• Lead the design and development of scalable, high-availability systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver technical solutions.
• Promote best practices in engineering, architecture, and agile processes.
• Foster a high-performance, growth-driven team culture.
• Optimize development workflows and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist the group lead in preparing and facilitating Agile ceremonies, ensuring team alignment and effective collaboration.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of leadership experience guiding engineering teams and setting technical direction.
• Hands-on experience scaling production systems in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS).
• Strong background in event-driven architecture and microservices.
• Proven backend development experience in Python.
• Expertise in designing scalable, high-performance systems using modern architectures.
• Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and development processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
