Embedded Software Engineer

A cybersecurity startup has developed a Cloud-based solution for securing IoT products by protecting home networks through hardening the entry point the router.

The technology identifies all smart devices connected to the home network, applies the appropriate security policies to each one, and detects and responds to anomalous events in real time.

Founded in 2016, the company has raised $40M to date and is currently in the process of a new funding round. Their solution protects over 500 million devices, and their customers include global tech giants.

The company is based in Tel Aviv (next to a train line), has 70 employees, and offers a hybrid work model with two days from home.

About the role

• Join the Core team, consisting of 4 developers and a Tech Lead, responsible for the company’s Agent product
• Take full ownership of design, architecture, scalability, and end-to-end development
• Collaborate closely with all teams across the organization
• Develop in C for an Embedded system running on Linux
• Work with networking protocols: IP, DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS
• Handle security layers: ARP, ICMP, NAT, Port Forwarding, VPN, IPSec, GRE
• Engage in both high-level and low-level development
• Analyze network activity to identify and mitigate security threats in real time

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems, with a deep understanding of Linux internals, kernel development, and cross-compilation.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, router architectures, and low-latency systems.
• Experience working in agile environments and handling fast-paced development cycles.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
