Head of Finance

Videocites is a novel AI-based video tracking and analytics company. Comprising state of the art Machine Learning and Computer Vision technologies, our cloud-based SaaS platform is used by global companies in multiple industries: Media and Entertainment, Advertising, Sports and Homeland Security. Videocites was established by several serial entrepreneurs and three renowned Computer Science professors.

Role overview:

As the Head of Finance, you will be the first and only finance professional in the company — combining strategic leadership with full ownership of all financial operations. You will work closely with the CEO, board, and investors, while also rolling up your sleeves to manage the day-to-day financial responsibilities.

You will be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the company as well as possible risks and investments, will lead the finance department, making sure we move in the right direction and have the best infrastructure and tools to do so.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping to define company strategy and drive business growth.
• Provide strategic financial insight and recommendations to the CEO, board, and investors.
• Support fundraising efforts (equity and debt), including financial modeling, due diligence, and investor communications.

Financial Management & Operations

• Oversee all accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory standards.
• Manage and coordinate annual tax audits, including assessments of tax treatments
• Manage and maintain internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
• Managing negotiations with suppliers in everything related to contracts, procurement, payment terms etc.

Hands-On Execution

• Handle all day-to-day finance operations (bookkeeping, payroll oversight, accounts payable/receivable, etc.) — either directly or via external providers.
• Build and manage reporting dashboards for key financial and operational metrics.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and legal advisors as needed.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts to support decision-making across departments.
• Manage cash, banks and all currency strategy

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with the CEO and other department leads to align financial strategy with business priorities.
• Support contract negotiations and pricing decisions from a financial perspective.
• Be the main point of contact for investors and finance-related stakeholder relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA certificate (Active) – a must
• Internship in one of the Big 4 – a must
• At least 8 years of proven experience in a senior finance role in a SAAS B2B startup company with global financial operations or a corporate subsidiaries/entity (e.g., Finance Manager, Head of Finance, VP Finance).
• Strong command of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
• Experience in leading a small team and external service providers
• Experience with reporting and managing regulatory requirements, including direct and indirect taxes (Experience in US GAAP).
• Hands-on approach and willingness to manage operational finance tasks.
• Experience supporting fundraising rounds and working with venture capital or private equity investors.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills; familiarity with accounting and ERP tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strategic mindset.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
