VP / Director of Data - a Retail company

A leading retail company, is seeking a strategic and innovative VP/Director of Data to lead its Data Initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the overall data strategy, aligning it with the business objectives and vision.
• Oversee the collection, storage, management, and analysis of data across the organization.
• Foster a data-driven culture, promoting the use of data analytics to inform business decisions at all levels.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive innovation and improve efficiency.
• Develop and implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance.
• Monitor emerging technologies in data management and analytics to ensure the company remains at the forefront of data innovation.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to data analysts, data scientists, and technical teams.
• Manage budgets and resources for data initiatives, ensuring optimal use of technology and personnel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in data management and analytics.
• 4+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading data-driven initiatives in a retail or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of data management frameworks, analytics tools, and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R, BI tools).
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset.
