Technical Lead for Drone Systems Development

Dronix is an Israeli company specializing in developing and producing advanced drone systems.

Position Overview:

We seek a highly skilled Technical Lead with extensive system-level expertise in complex open-source drone systems, encompassing mechanics, electronics, control systems, algorithms, integration, and payloads. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and/or the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary development teams, from project initiation and specification to customer delivery. This is a full-time position in a dynamic and challenging environment at our headquarters in Petah Tikva.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the company’s technological development domain, from concept to operational product.
• Formulate and execute a technological strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Oversee development teams in electronics, mechanics, software, algorithms, and flight control.
• Spearhead hardware-software integration for advanced drones, including communication, payloads, navigation, and control systems.
• Collaborate directly with clients from the defense industry and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies for future development projects.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing open-source drone systems, with a focus on hardware-software integration.
• Proven experience in projects requiring engineering reviews (e.g., CDR, PDR).
• Proficiency and hands-on experience with various flight controllers and control systems, including the ability to adapt control systems.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary development teams.
• Practical experience in amateur, professional, or operational drone piloting across a range of platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of operational drone ecosystems, including configurations, missions, and relevant hardware.
• Broad technical understanding of electronics, mechanics, software, and control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred).
