The opportunity

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will shape and lead the development of our core agents analyzing the internals of core data engines including Apache Spark, Iceberg, Trino & more. As a founding team member, it is also a unique opportunity to join a small and mighty team, and take an active part in forming its culture of mutual support, continuous learning, and experimentation.

What you’ll do

• Design and build the Definity agents analyzing the execution of top data engines in real-time.
• Explore optimization strategies & implement them at high scale environments.
• Play a pivotal role in the technological and architectural decisions.
• Analyze and improve the platform’s efficiency, scalability, and stability.
• Define and implement algorithmic and ML solutions.
• Continuously improve our product and professionally grow, via continuous collaboration, brainstorming, code reviews, and sharing and receiving feedback
• Work directly with our customers and advocate for the user, reflecting it in every aspect of the architecture and platform
• Work in hybrid mode, based in Tel-Aviv

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing software solutions on distributed data platforms.
• Deep experience with internals & optimizations of Apache Spark / Iceberg / Trino.
• E2E backend engineering experience (design, development, testing, maintenance, monitoring)
• Deep expertise in Java/Scala and Python
• Expertise in RDBMS and high proficiency in SQL
• Experience supporting live production SaaS systems
• Experience working in cloud environment (dev, release, maintenance)
• High design and engineering standards, with an ability to deliver high quality in a fast pace
• ​Strong track record of success / excellenceB
• Bachelor's degree in computer science / software engineering, or tech units trainingW
