Senior Software Engineer

🚀 We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer @ Sunlight!

We’re looking for someone hands-on, curious, and experienced to join our Core Team — the team that builds the backbone of Sunlight’s B2B payments infrastructure.

You’ll be working on real, meaty problems. Think: scaling critical systems, building new product features from scratch, and improving performance at every layer. You’ll own what you build, and see it in production — fast.

✔ What we're looking for

• 5+ years of backend development experience (ideally with Kotlin or other JVM languages)
• Experience working on complex systems in the cloud (AWS especially)
• Someone who’s led a team or taken serious ownership before — we want a doer with leadership instincts
• A strong engineering mindset: break problems down, get things done, and keep standards high
• Bonus if you’ve worked with Python, Redis, or in fintech
• BSc in Computer Science or similar
