monday.com is looking for a backend team lead to take a leadership role in structuring our backend architecture vision and implementation. You’ll join our R&D department based in our headquarters, Tel Aviv, Israel. The Backend foundations team is part of our Foundations Group. The Foundations group is applying and leading our R&D’s architecture, dealing with top industry level scale & performance challenges on a horizontal level.

Some of the challenges the group will face next year -

• Build our new backend & client shared frameworks, supercharging other R&D teams with the capabilities to focus on business logic with great confidence.
• Design and develop key parts of the company’s application, such as the our Board’s engine (aka mondayDB), to support great scale and performance in strategic areas.
• Lead the building of a new Monday architecture that supports a much larger scale of developers and data, focusing on “key” parts implementation (like a general authorization system).
  
  

• Lead and scale a team of talented engineers building & leading monday.com’s architecture and horizontal services.
• Ensure our architecture supports our short and long term goals.
• Lead the Implementation and adoption of key parts of the company’s application.
• Lead the research and adoption of new technologies.
• Be both a technical leader and people manager.
• You will work closely with other teams in the R&D - to execute our technical roadmap and build amazing user experience.
• Our Stack - React.JS, Redux, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, AWS, Elastic Search, Redis, MySQL, Kafka, Cassandra.
  
  

• Experience managing a team and leading projects from start to finish.
• Strong technical and coding skills with passion for system architecture.
• Experience with Micro Services architecture, Event Sourcing and modern frameworks is an advantage.
• Experienced with building complex large scale web applications.
• Experience working with databases - Mysql, Postgres, Elastic search, Redis, Cassandra, etc.
• Team player, egoless, strong communication skills, and empathetic.
