Postdoctoral Research Position in Dairy Cattle Nutrition Agricultural Research Organization (ARO), Volcani Institute, Israel

The Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory at the Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research position focused on dairy cattle mineral nutrition and water quality.

Research Focus: The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team investigating the complex interactions between mineral nutrition, water quality, and dairy cattle performance. The research program utilizes advanced methodologies to optimize dairy production systems while ensuring animal welfare and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and supervise controlled animal studies in commercial dairy settings
• Develop and execute comprehensive data collection protocols for biological samples
• Conduct advanced statistical analyses and interpret research findings
• Prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
• Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to grant writing efforts

Essential Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, or closely related agricultural discipline
• Doctorate obtained within the past 24 months
• Demonstrated experience in dairy cattle research methodologies
• Proficiency in experimental design and statistical analysis
• Proven track record of independent research capability
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specialized expertise in mineral nutrition and/or water quality research
• Experience conducting research at commercial dairy operations
• Publication record demonstrating scientific merit
• Background in analytical chemistry or biochemistry
• Familiarity with Israeli dairy production systems

Position Details:

• Duration: 2-4 years, renewable based on performance and funding
• Commencement: October 1, 2025
• Compensation: ₪9,000-12,000 monthly, commensurate with experience
• Environment: Dynamic integration of field research, laboratory analysis, computational modeling, and academic writing
