Company Overview:

Eye-Net Mobile is a technology product company, engaged in the design and development of cellular-based V2X (vehicle-to-everything) accident prevention solutions. Eye-Net is designed to provide real-time pre-collision alerts to vehicles and vulnerable road users (pedestrians, cyclists, scooter drivers) by using smartphones and relying on existing cellular networks.

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Research & Development to lead our R&D initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving innovation, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering cutting-edge solutions in the fields of mobile technologies, software architecture, and advanced algorithms. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical applications that align with our mission to improve road safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the R&D strategy in alignment with Eye-Net Mobile's vision and business objectives. Identify emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation in collision prevention solutions.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary R&D team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, development, and retention of top engineering and scientific talent.
• Project Oversight: Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation through design, development, testing, and deployment. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Marketing, and Business Development, to ensure R&D efforts align with market needs and customer requirements. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments.
• Innovation and Research: Drive the exploration and integration of new technologies, methodologies, and processes to enhance product offerings. Stay abreast of industry advancements and incorporate relevant innovations into the R&D roadmap.
• Quality and Compliance: Ensure all R&D activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Implement robust design control, change control, and risk management processes to maintain product excellence.
  
  

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in R&D leadership roles, preferably within the mobile technology or software development industries.
• Experience in hands on development in at least 3 topics: C++, iOS development ObjC/Swift, Android development JAVA/Kotlin, Java/SpringBoot, Node.JS/React.JS, MongoDB, ElasticSearch/Kibana, Selenium/Appium, Docker/K8S, Google Cloud, Jenkins.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex R&D projects and bringing innovative products to market.
• Strong technical background with expertise in mobile technologies, software architecture, and advanced algorithms.
• Significant knowledge of the mobile domain from previous experience with mobile-focused companies.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Extremely fluent in English reading/writing/speaking. French and Japanese – advantage.
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
