As a Senior Data / LLM Engineer at Slice, you will lead the building of a data infrastructure and pipelines for a rapidly growing startup. This role involves developing and integrating AI technologies across the platform to optimize the management of equity, legal, and tax documents. This is ideal for someone passionate about building SaaS products from scratch with a track record of zero-to-one projects, ideally within fintech or legal tech.

• Design, develop, and implement LLM-based legal document analysis and information extraction processes, clustering and data matching.
• Deploy and maintain data pipelines in production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand legal document requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize and fine-tune models for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in NLP and machine learning.
• Develop and maintain documentation for model development and deployment.
• Monitor and evaluate deployed models and improve performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of learning and innovation.
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in NLP/LLM/machine learning with a language focus.
• Experience deploying data pipelines in production (GCP/Firebase is a plus).
• Strong Python programming skills (Node.js is a plus); familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain or similar.
• Deep understanding of LLM architectures and document analysis.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with legal terminology and documents is a plus.
