Network & Infrastructure System Administrator

A successful oil & gas company is seeking a Network & Infrastructure System Administrator

Location: MATAM Park, Haifa (including occasional travel to Tel Aviv and offshore facilities)

Type: Full-time position | One remote workday per week after the training period

Job Description:

Network Infrastructure Management:

• Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the company’s network systems, including Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and remote communications with offshore FPSO facilities.

• Troubleshoot network issues across multiple sites, ensuring minimal downtime for business-critical systems.

• Implement and maintain existing security measures to protect the company’s infrastructure and sensitive data.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and cybersecurity standards (including offshore operations).

• Perform management and configuration tasks on switches, routers, firewalls, servers, computers, and other devices from various vendors.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity experts in deploying and maintaining interconnection systems, following CISO directives.

VPN & Remote Connectivity:

• Ensure secure and efficient VPN connections for remote and offshore employees, including on-site support for offshore network needs.

System Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

• Monitor network performance and provide reports on speed, reliability, and scalability.

• Maintain network capacity and plan future upgrades in line with business growth.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for network-related issues across company offices and offshore teams.

• Coordinate with engineers and management to resolve network-related problems.

• Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding network health and improvements.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:

• Assist in developing and maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans, with a focus on offshore operations.

• Conduct regular infrastructure resilience tests and recovery drills.

Hardware & Software Support:

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of network-related hardware and software.

• Ensure all infrastructure components are properly integrated, updated, and functioning as expected.

Onsite & Offshore Support:

• Occasional travel to the company’s offices in Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as offshore facilities, to provide hands-on technical support and infrastructure assessments.

Requirements:

• Diploma or technical certification in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 2–3 years of proven experience in hands-on technical support and field maintenance.

• Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.).

• Understanding of network security principles and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, etc.).

• Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

• Knowledge in routing, switching, firewalls, Cat5&6 cabling, fiber optics interconnection, measurement tools, protocol decoding, WiFi deployment, and LAN & WAN interconnection.

• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, servers, virtual machines, and storage.

• Knowledge of cloud-based services and integrations (e.g., AWS, Azure) – an advantage.

Additional Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to network issue resolution.

• Ability to work effectively in multi-location teams, both onshore and offshore.

• Familiarity with regulations in the energy and natural gas industries – an advantage.

• Willingness to travel between company sites (Tel Aviv, Haifa, and offshore facilities).

• Fluent in English.

• Ability to read and understand technical documents, specifications, manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance reports.
