Analyst to support our Alternative Investments and Investment Banking teams

Poalim Equity (PEQ) is seeking an Analyst to support our Alternative Investments and Investment Banking teams, including assisting with sourcing opportunities, conducting initial due diligence, portfolio management and market research. Poalim Equity (PEQ) is the dedicated investment arm of Bank Hapoalim, Israel's largest financial institution. Our activities include fund investments, direct investments, co-investments, and bespoke financial advisory services across various alternative asset classes. 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Analyst to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a sharp and proactive individual to contribute across the entire deal lifecycle, from initial sourcing and due diligence to in-depth financial analysis and ongoing portfolio management. The Analyst will work closely with senior team members, gaining invaluable experience in both investment and investment banking disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Market Research: Conduct thorough market research and industry analysis to identify potential investment opportunities and target companies. Assist in the development of investment theses and screening criteria.
• Due Diligence: Participate in the execution of due diligence processes, including commercial, financial, and operational reviews. Prepare detailed due diligence reports and presentations summarizing findings.
• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Build and maintain complex financial models, including valuation analyses (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies). Perform sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to assess potential investment outcomes. Prepare financial summaries and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Portfolio Management: Support the ongoing monitoring and analysis of existing portfolio investments. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify potential risks or opportunities. Assist in the preparation of portfolio performance reports and updates.
• Investment Banking Support: Assist in the review of pitch books, information memoranda, and other transaction-related documents. Support the team in the sourcing and execution of investment banking transactions. Maintain and organize transaction-related documentation.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with strong academic performance.
• CPA with Big 4 experience – advantage
• 1-3 years of experience
• Demonstrated interest in investing and investment banking through coursework, internships, or personal activities.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis (e.g., Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. 
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong work ethic, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ) is a plus.
