Senior Investment Professional, Alternative Investments Group (Funds and Co-Investments)

Role Summary:

This senior Investment Professional position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in the analysis, due diligence, execution, and monitoring of investments in and alongside third-party managed funds within the Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, Energy, and Real Estate sectors globally. You will work closely with senior team members, contributing significantly to portfolio construction, manager selection decisions and portfolio management.

Job Description:

• Funds and Co-Investment Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative due diligence on prospective fund managers, strategies, and specific fund and co-investment opportunities across multiple strategies, including, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Debt, Energy, and Real Estate sectors. This includes analyzing track records, investment strategies, team capabilities, market positioning, and fund terms (LPA, PPM).
• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models for fund and co-investment analysis, including performance forecasting, portfolio construction analysis, risk assessment, and cash flow projections relevant to limited partner (LP) investments and co-investments alongside fund managers.
• Investment Recommendation: Prepare and present detailed investment memoranda, due diligence reports, and presentations articulating investment theses and recommendations for the investment committee and senior management.
• Market Research & Sourcing Support: Perform ongoing market research on alternative investment trends, manager landscapes, and specific fund strategies across various sectors. Assist in identifying and screening new fund and co-investment opportunities.
• Process Management: Support and coordinate various aspects of the fund investment due diligence process, including manager meetings, reference checks, review of legal documentation, and coordination with operational due diligence (ODD) providers.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the performance of existing funds and co-investments, prepare periodic portfolio reviews, track relevant industry benchmarks, and manage reporting requirements.
• Database Management: Develop and maintain internal databases tracking fund managers, performance data, market intelligence, and the investment pipeline.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience: 4–7 years of relevant experience in alternative investments, specifically focused on fund selection, manager due diligence, portfolio analysis, or fund-of-funds investment as well as co-investments alongside fund managers. Direct experience analyzing funds and co-investment opportunities within Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Debt, Energy, or Real Estate sectors is highly preferred.
• Funds Analysis Expertise: Deep understanding of fund structures, terms (LPA), and the comprehensive due diligence process required for selecting top-tier alternative investment funds and managers.
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform both quantitative (track record analysis, performance attribution, benchmarking) and qualitative (strategy assessment, team evaluation, market positioning) due diligence on funds and co-investments.
• Investment Process Management: Experience supporting or managing stages of the fund investment lifecycle, from initial screening and due diligence to recommendation and monitoring.
• Financial Modeling: Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in financial modeling relevant to funds and co-investments (e.g., LP cash flow modeling, performance analysis, basic portfolio modeling).
• Presentation Skills: Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling investment recommendations and presentations.
• Organizational & Quantitative Skills: Excellent organizational abilities, strong quantitative aptitude, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Work Ethic: Results-oriented, proactive, with an ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Systems: Familiarity with relevant financial data providers and databases (e.g., Preqin, PitchBook) is a plus.
