The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary General Manager with deep technical expertise in software engineering and leadership experience to establish and scale Bastion's new R&D site. You will build a world-class engineering team, define the technical direction, and be a key strategic voice in our global product development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing R&D team focused on web3 infrastructure technologies.
• Oversee the end-to-end hiring, onboarding, and management of engineering and product teams.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to define technical vision and product strategy.
• Drive architectural decisions and best practices in blockchain integration, wallet management, and transaction analytics.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions in line with Bastion's roadmap.
• Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Represent the R&D site internally and externally, including with partners, investors, and clients.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer and engineering leader, ideally in the fintech, blockchain, or infrastructure space.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling technical teams or new R&D operations.
• Hands-on expertise in cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and API design.
• Strong understanding of web3 technologies, including wallets, smart contracts, and blockchain protocols.
• Familiarity with compliance and security requirements in highly regulated environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working across geographies and functions.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Preferred Experience

• Background in building infrastructure tools or platforms at scale.
• Knowledge of custodial wallet management, smart contract orchestration, or blockchain data analytics.
• Experience working with or within enterprise clients or regulated institutions.
