KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Roles responsible for ensuring Merck's compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and laws as well as providing expertise on drug safety and medical topics.

Provides medical expert advice to ensure accuracy of data to support existing or new product promotion. Develops medical product information and stays informed on scientific trends and competition.

Maintains relationships with target opinion leaders and trains local teams in medical topics.

IMPACT : Affects your own team or even closely related teams through the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of team results, or even through the provision of value-added products,

services, or information that is important for making decisions beyond from the team itself.

Contributes to financial and resource planning. It can also help improve policy in a general

way.

It can even handle sensitive issues. Provide training to team members.

COMPLEXITY : Monitors low to medium complexity day-to-day activities of homogeneous support / service / larger operations teams. He does supervised work in part, but usually

focuses on more complex / complicated issues and team management. She applies technical expertise to the analysis of factual information and can even look beyond the immediate

problem and use her business insight to understand the broader implications.

RESPONSIBILITY / INDEPENDENCE : responsible for the performance / results of the team itself, assigning or even coordinating / supervising the work as team manager and

supervising progress, punctuality, completion and quality. It acts according to clear guidelines. Get guidance and supervision from a manager to set team goals and priorities. Helps

determine the appropriate approach to new tasks.

EXPERIENCE: Requires further training in addition to relevant professional experience ranging from some substantial experience or secondary education and added training and

qualifications, and extensive professional experience in founding roles. It also requires substantial experience in equipment supervision.

ORGANIZATION: is usually subordinate to a Manager or a Project Manager position during a defined period depending on the organizational structure (there is not necessarily a

officer, Market Access and Communication etc.)

• External experts

• Investigators and customer/ patient organizations

• Health authorities, medical societies and other scientific bodies

• CROs and other vendors

• Physicians and other HCP •Auditiors

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/LANGUAGES
• Degree of Physician by Well Known University
• Secondary / advanced scientific degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, DO, MD, MBBS) - required
• Other advanced degree (ie MBA, MPH) - desired
• Proven training/experience in Clinical or Basic Research, Epidemiology, Pharmacoeconomics, Clinical Pharmacology and/or Administration is advantageous
•Scientific and / or clinical training in therapeutic area of relevance to position strongly preferred

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Experience: 5-7 years in pharmaceutical industry (at least significantly in Medical Affairs roles)

• Experience in other pharmaceutical functions in local, regional or global/ Regional roles desirable

• Experiences in clinical practice as licensed specialist preferred

• Prior industry experience as Medical Manager/ Director

• Experience in local and international regulations including Good Clinical Practice

• Good understanding of local compliance and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, R&D and Commercial work

• Good understanding of local healthcare environment

• Local recognition or credibility among External Experts (KOLs) preferred

• Previous experience leading teams and/or mentoring new hires and working in teamwork required

•Minimum Experience: 5-7 years in Pharmaceutical Industri (2 years as MD and or 5 years as Manager)
