Software Engineering Team Lead

A startup company developing a cloud-based platform for investment portfolio management. Their SaaS platform is used by global financial institutions to manage trillions of dollars in assets, modernizing and transforming the industry.

The platform supports a wide range of financial products, including mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds, insurance products, and pension funds, while automating processes, improving workflows, and enabling collaboration across teams and organizations in portfolio management and administration.

The company is based in Tel Aviv, near a train line, with a hybrid work model offering one work-from-home day per week. They employ around 130 people.

Founded in 2018, the company has completed several funding rounds and has raised over $150M to date, recently completing their Series C.

About the role-

• As part of the role, you will manage a team of 4–5 developers, reporting to a Group Leader.
• The role starts with 100% hands-on development (for up to six months) and then transitions to about 50% hands-on.
• The team focuses on infrastructure development on both the client and server sides, including greenfield projects, system maintenance, and the development of cross-system features.
• The work involves tackling significant challenges around scalability and performance, making the role much broader and more critical than typical Full-Stack development.
• The tech stack includes Node.js on the server side, React and TypeScript on the client side, all within a cloud-based environment.

Requirements-

• 6 years of web development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise grade web applications that handle large volumes of data and complex workflows.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js and React, with a strong understanding of both frontend and backend development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or specialized training may also be considered.
• Solid understanding of web performance optimization techniques, particularly for large-scale applications.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deployment strategies, e.g. CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with security best practices for building secure web applications, especially in highly regulated environments.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a focus on delivering iterative, high-quality features.
• Previous experience working in the Fintech industry, dealing with sensitive financial data, is a plus.
