Leadership

We’re looking for a Head of R&D caliber to lead our engineering team through the next phase of growth. You’ll structure, manage, and mentor a talented group of developers, own the execution of our roadmap, and work closely with product, design, and data to deliver scalable, high-quality features.

This role is perfect for someone who loves building great products and great teams, with deep technical experience and proven leadership in fast-paced, cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a cross-functional development team (backend, frontend, mobile).
• Drive planning, processes, execution, versioning, and delivery of complex features and infrastructure.
• Be hands-on in coding, architecture decisions, code reviews, and solving critical technical challenges.
• Collaborate with the CTO, product, data, and design to translate vision into reliable software.
• Support team growth through mentoring, hiring, and feedback processes.

RequirementsLeadership & Experience

• 4+ years of experience managing R&D or engineering teams.
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale web applications in production.
• Experience leading teams through scale, refactorings, and architectural shifts.

Technical Skills

• 6+ years in software development – Must
• 2+ years with AWS (RDS, Lambda, SQS, SNS) – Must
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js
• Strong Linux OS experience
• Solid experience with MongoDB, MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP protocol
• Comfortable working across both server-side and client-side architectures
• BS/BA in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience (8200/81 dev background a plus)
