As we continue to innovate in the field of terpene science and functional formulations, we're seeking a Chemoinformatic Data Engineer to join our growing data-driven research team.

About the Role

As a Chemoinformatic Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, processing, and analyzing molecular and biological data to support R&D, product development, and scientific discovery at Eybna. You'll build tools and pipelines for molecular data handling, leverage AI and NLP technologies to extract insights from scientific literature, and collaborate across departments to drive forward data-informed innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable chemical and biological databases for research and development.
• Develop and apply cheminformatics algorithms for structure-activity analysis, compound clustering, and predictive modeling.
• Utilize AI tools (e.g., BioBERT or similar) for extracting relevant information from scientific publications and databases.
• Integrate public and proprietary chemical/biological datasets (e.g., ChEMBL, PubChem, etc.) for knowledge discovery.
• Collaborate with chemists, biologists, and product teams to identify data needs and implement computational solutions.
• Improve internal workflows for molecular data handling using tools such as RDKit, Open Babel, or similar toolkits.
• Ensure data integrity, documentation, and reproducibility across all research pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field.
• Proven experience in molecular data handling, modeling, or AI/ML for chemistry.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with cheminformatics libraries (e.g., RDKit, DeepChem, SMILES/InChI).
• Familiarity with molecular descriptors, similarity metrics, QSAR modeling, and SAR analysis.
• Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with scientific and technical teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud computing or data pipeline tools.
• Familiarity with NLP models (e.g., BioBERT) for scientific text analysis.
• Exposure to commercial tools like Schrödinger, Autodock Vina , or other molecular modeling software.
• Knowledge in pharmacokinetics, ADMET properties, or functional compound research is a plus.
