ART MEDICAL is a well-funded medical startup transforming ICU care through advanced technology and innovation. Our smART+™ platform is an intelligent, sensor-based solution that optimizes nutrition delivery while reducing the risks of ventilator-associated pneumonia and malnutrition. Supported by clinical trials, we are setting a new standard in critical care by achieving nearly 100% feeding efficiency and reducing ICU stays by an average of 3.3 days.
We are seeking a Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, and user needs, and is passionate about improving patient care through innovation and attention to detail.
The Product owner plays a central role in supporting the downstream product lifecycle—ensuring current product functionality, addressing field issues, improving usability, and translating user feedback into actionable features and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Product Lead, R&D, Regulatory, and Clinical teams to define practical and achievable solutions for user needs and field issues.
- Create high-quality wireframes and mockups; define detailed UI behavior.
- Write clear, testable and detailed user stories and specifications, covering typical flows, UI behavior, functional behavior, and edge cases.
- Own and continuously refine the full software specification (user stories), improving clarity, completeness, and alignment with design and implementation.
- Work with the Product Lead to manage and prioritize the software backlog, ensuring the development team always has well-defined, actionable tasks.
- Collaborate with Project Manager, Product Lead, and Software Manager to define the software release timeline and plan.
- Clarify open questions on specifications, participate in sprint planning and design reviews, and help debug clinical or technical issues.
- Work closely with system and software engineering to ensure end-to-end traceability of features, user needs and user stories across components, requirements and risks.
- Serve as the internal product expert for engineering throughout development, testing, and issue resolution.
- B.Sc. or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience as Product Owner, from medical devices industries.
- Hands-on experience with requirements writing and user story development.
- Experience with Agile task management methodology.
- Hands-on creation of user stories in Jira
- Full understanding of software development Lifecycles
- Familiarity with software-based systems and multidisciplinary devices (mechanical, electrical, software).
- Understanding of design controls and medical device regulations is an advantage.
