Senior Web Developer

BOA Ideas was established 19 years ago, focusing on a range of web projects. We are the e-commerce experts for Shopify, application developers, and builders of third-party integrations that interface with many different systems and applications. Our specialization, areas of interest, and overall knowledge base continue to evolve and expand in tandem with our recruitment efforts. We are seeking full-stack developers to join our team.

We seek a developer with a track record of successfully delivering development projects within an agency environment. You will be a team player with a solutions-based approach. You will stay up to date with the latest industry developments and be meticulous about adhering to coding standards and best practices.

Candidates must have proven experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We are looking for individuals who can see the bigger picture, not just their immediate task list, to ensure projects run smoothly. They proactively look to innovate, streamline processes, and push the boundaries for their clients.

Role and responsibilities:

• Development of industry-leading websites and digital experiences.
• Taking designs and converting them into Craft CMS and Shopify sites.
• Innovation: constantly looking for better ways to do things by keeping up to date with the latest developments in the industry and applying this to client work.
• Ensuring that all development work is thoroughly tested before being reviewed by the client.
• Liaising with the management team to give progress updates and escalate any issues.
• Working as part of a wider team with project managers, customer success, and webmasters.

Skills:

• 4-5 years of Proven experience in React, JavaScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
• In-depth understanding of Express, NextJS, TypeScript, and Prisma.
• Familiarity with the building and management of abstracted SDK and API tools.
• Shopify Liquid experience.
• Knowledge of PHP and Laravel framework.
• Knowledge of MySQL.
• Working knowledge of GitHub.
• Appreciation for clean and readable code.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong team player who can use their initiative and self-manage.
• Demonstrable skills in implementing responsive websites.
• Working with Junior developers and the ability to teach and guide them.
• Proven experience as a backend developer or in a similar role in software development.
• In-depth understanding of server-side JavaScript (NodeJS, Express, NextJS SSR)
• Understanding of CI/CD methods and setup: Github Actions hooks, rapid environment deployments, testing, and puppeteering.
