Materials Buyer

We are looking for a Materials Buyer to oversee the company procurement processes, sourcing and PO monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Buyer , preferably in the food and beverage, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries. Experience with the sourcing and purchasing of raw and packaging materials, the preferred candidate will also have knowledge in material planning and MRP within ERP systems (NetSuite an advantage)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw and packaging materials
• Source, evaluate and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to optimize procurement outcomes.
• Diligently pursue the most competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards and adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Monitor closely all open PO's and work proactively to minimize lead times, and to maintain accurate data in the ERP system.
• Implement process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance procurement practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, quality assurance , Sales Ops, , and finance.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform decision-making and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Materials buyer , preferably in the food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management systems (NetSuit ERP an advantage).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent English - Mandatory!
• Computer skills, experienced in working with Gmail, Excel, Google Sheets (will be tested)
• Prior knowledge in logistics is not mandatory, Must be driven, fast learner, hard-working,
• highly-organized, attention to details, reliable, go-getter!
