VP R&D

We’re looking for a VP of R&D to drive our technology vision forward and grow our engineering muscle. Velotix is at the forefront of transforming the way enterprises manage data protection and access permissions in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. Objectives of this Role:

• Drive the successful delivery of high-quality, scalable software products that meet market and customer needs
• Lead and scale the R&D organization, setting technical direction and long-term vision aligned with company goals
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to align R&D efforts with business outcomes
• Attract, retain, and grow top-tier engineering talent in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in high-tech software development, with 5+ years in senior R&D leadership roles
• Hands-on experience with Java, including building and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems
• Strong architectural background in building complex, scalable SaaS or enterprise systems
• Proven track record of managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment
• Hands-on leadership style with deep technical knowledge; able to dive into code, architecture, and infrastructure when needed
• Experience in agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and cloud-native development
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
