VP R&D (Early-stage Company)

An early-stage company in our portfolio - in the data infrastructure optimization space - is looking for their first VP R&D to join the Founders in building a world-class engineering organization. This is a great opportunity for someone with significant experience as a Group Lead or Director to take their next step as VP R&D. Are you up for the challenge?

In this role, you will:

• Work alongside the Founders to set Engineering and Product Strategy and roadmap
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a growing team
• Deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that implement industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies
• Build a culture of high engineering standards and delivery
• Contribute hands-on as needed during the early stages of the company

For this role, you should have:

• 4+ years in an engineering or R&D management role, leading a team of at least 10.
• A strong academic/military serve background from a recognized degree program or prestigious unit.
• Significant hands-on experience as a software engineer.
• Experience in B2B SaaS companies
• Preference or candidates with experience in the data infrastructure space
