Backend Team Lead

Role Description

As a Backend Team Lead you’ll be heading the backend team and its domain – covering all the technical aspects of GetPackage’s backend solution, from requirements analysis to design and implementation. This responsibility includes the BE services and the algorithms involved (which are a key element in the solution).

Reporting to the CTO and working closely with cross-functional teams (Product, DevOps, QA, R&D)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, implementation and quality of an innovative cloud-based solution
• Lead a small team of backend engineers
• Lead the algorithmic aspects of the solution (key element in the product)
• Translate product requirements (stories) to technical tasks (while contributing to the product definition process)
• Hands-on contribution while also guiding best practices, code quality, and scalable design choices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development
• 3+ years of experience as a team leader
• Proficiency in TypeScript - Must
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience working with microservices architecture – Must
• Experience in Spatial problems solving with algorithmics is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Must
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Experience with MongoDB - Must
• Experience with the following technologies: GraphQL, RabbitMQ - Advantage
