Senior Data Scientist | Leading Government Organization | Hybrid | Jerusalem

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Data Scientist to join a leading government entity in the financial domain. This is a unique opportunity to take part in national-level projects, lead cutting-edge AI initiatives, and make real impact through data.

In this strategic role, you’ll manage complex analytical projects, lead a team of data scientists, and help shape the data governance and ethics landscape across the organization.

📍 Location: Jerusalem

🏠 Hybrid model: 2 days working from home

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced AI/ML models for financial forecasting, anomaly detection, and cost optimization
• Apply complex statistical and mathematical algorithms to analyze large-scale government financial datasets
• Conduct data exploration and insight discovery across diverse data sources
• Work cross-functionally with data engineers, product managers, and decision-makers to move models from research to production
• Promote responsible AI practices and embed organizational data governance policies

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data-related roles, including at least 3 years in Data Science
• Proven proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and modeling
• Hands-on experience deploying ML models in production environments
• Deep understanding of statistics, predictive analytics, and machine learning techniques
• Familiarity with Big Data platforms and cloud technologies
• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases
• Proficiency in data visualization tools for communicating insights
• Ability to design and manage the entire ML lifecycle – from ideation to production
• Experience with data preparation for predictive modeling and DQA processes

Education Requirements

• A Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, or Mathematics OR A PhD in any field with at least 9 years of proven experience in the data domain

• Background in the financial or public sector
• Experience managing projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Publications or participation in research projects related to data science
• Familiarity with budgetary processes, accounting, or economic modeling
