The Opportunity:

We're seeking an exceptional Scientist to join our dynamic Strain Development team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable food production while working with cutting-edge biotechnology. You'll be part of a passionate team pushing the boundaries of what's possible in protein expression.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive innovation in strain development by establishing and optimizing new microbial expression systems across diverse strains.
• Design and implement novel functional genomic screens to enhance protein production efficiency.
• Lead the development and validation of high-throughput screening platforms to accelerate strain optimization.
• Spearhead the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to improve strain performance.
• Execute critical experiments aligned with departmental objectives and company milestones.
• Develop and standardize robust protocols and SOP’s compliance with GMP requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Process Development and Analytics.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial experience with demonstrated expertise in:

o  Molecular biology techniques and microbial protein expression systems

o  Strain engineering and improvement

o  Gene construction, design, and transformation

o  Clonal selection and strain characterization

• Proven experience working in GMP or GMP-compliant environments
• Strong track record of successful strain improvement projects
• Excellence in experimental design and execution

• Knowledge of working with fungi in general and filamentous fungi in particular
• Strong project management capabilities with ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
• Creative problem-solving approach and innovative mindset
• Familiarity with automation and high-throughput screening methods
• Experience with bioinformatics tools and large-scale data analysis
